Wowa someone made a poll for me xD

I think you'll find that TS3 is used a lot more than mumble for competitive play.

Are you sure you're talking about comp TF2 here? Because every single team save for one I've played in, be it 6s or Highlander, has used Mumble.

Not sure about you people but when I use skype to talk with friends, my ping goes around 100.
That doesn't happen with TS3.
Could be my shitty connection, I don't know. I'll be the loner that votes for TS3

My ping stays the same pretty much. Never noticed any change in quality either between programs. Skype is just easier for us all to use.

I edited my comment that he replied to, so initially it said just competitive overall.

I'm actually wondering why skype was added because that's obviously going to trump it all  I don't know one person that doesn't have a skype.

I let anyone who asks have my Skype, doesn't mean I'll talk to them, but they might get thrown into random calls.
Everyone has Skype, I only have TS to talk with a certain group, and I don't have Mumble. If I ever talk to someone, they're never going to say "hey let's go on TS/Mumble", or I'd be surprised...

The other thread is about converting.

Just saying....I installed TS3 and I had no clue what was going on, I found mumbles interface is a lot easier to use.

To be fair, this is the deal with most things. I found both Mumble and TS3 a mess when I first tried them out.

Let's compare the two:

Mumble
  • ACL is a really powerful management language
  • Mumble has amazing VoIP quality with support for top of the line mics and soundcards
  • It is extremely customizable
  • Hosting it on your server is free and you can have as many slots as you like
TS3
  • Horribly cluttered interface
  • Management not as good as ACL
  • Owned by corporate dickfaces that require you to get a license to host it yourself and you can not have as many slots as you like
  • There is absolutely nothing good about it

This is like comparing a custom build to an Apple computer and guess who wins.

Rofl skype

Mumble is a far better alternative than the other two. Besides that, as Evo has already pointed out, 90% of the comp tf2 scene uses mumble so there is a greater chance that someone has mumble installed, rather than ts3.

As much as agree Kevin already said there will be no change
