Hi so i was playing tf2 when one day my in-game mic just stop working i have no clue what is wrong with it but here are some things that happened before it stop working in-game.
My microphone strangely works in mumble and other games but does not work in tf2 games its very strange because it is a laptop mic and should be working crystal clear.
If anyone can help me it would really be nice

Step 1: PC
Step 2: Headset
win
It might not be the laptop mic it works just tf2 just doesn't let me use my mic which is very strange I really need good help not that

Maybe you have muted yourself by accident. I know, stupid thing to say but you never know.

What kind of microphone are you using?
Did you type any commands in prior to your mic breaking?
Did you check whether you have muted yourself or not?
Does your mic work on other source games such as Gmod or CS?
Does your mic work on game servers that you haven't been in before?
just in case have you tried this:
cl_mute_all_comms 0 ?

Check your sound settings in Windows and see if your microphone is set as the default recording device.
TF2 always uses the default device, whereas other applications such as skype may use a different one.

Also, make sure you have enabled voicechat in TF2. Go to settings and open the "Voice" tab. Tick the box that says "Enable voice in this game" if it's unticked.

Is this solved?

If not, go into Steam Settings, then press Voice in the sidebar to the left. Check that the correct Microphone is chosen, and if not, change it. Also check so that the microphone volume is turned up.

If this is not the problem, go into Options inside Team Fortress 2 and check so that everything is set to what they should be.
